Our family recently went on our 4th mission trip to Mexico. We absolutely love the people, and God has given us the opportunity to build relationships with the missionaries there and many of the families we minister to and with. Previous years we have worked in Reynosa which is a border town. We have loved working there but this year we had the opportunity to go farther into Mexico to work and "live" for the ten days we were there. We were blessed to meet many new people and build even more relationships. Our living conditions were a little different this year because we stayed at "Camp Neuevo," in Pancho Villa. A lot of work had been done to this facility to make it ready to house the 16 missionaries we had staying there. I learned some valuable lessons about how you actually can live without air condition and you can live without running water. I won't say it is how I would choose to live but it is possible(something I had never even considered) It never ceases to amaze me how simple life can be....I actually enjoyed no TV, computer, cell phone and all the other things I didn't think I could live without here in the U.S. It is amazing how much more time you have to work on building relationships with people when you are not consumed with technology. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful for technology, it has opened many doors in the relationship building process also (just in a different way).
I will add some pictures and a caption or maybe even a paragraph outlining our trip.
Oh yes, for those of you who do not know, Ashley went about 10 days earlier than us to do a internship with the Bekeski family. She was able to use some of the gifts God gave her to help tell children about Jesus. She organized and led a soccer camp, that started off with 15 children and ended with 60 people at the ending tournaments. Eight children came to know Jesus through the devotions that were done daily. Ashley's friend Lindsey helped orgainize this part. We are very proud of both girls.
